Lanos, Lord of Truth
By Arota

- Lanos, Lord of Truth -
------------------------

Lanos, Lord of Truth, stands for all types of truth, whether it be an academic or internal truth, difficult to accept or easy. Searching for the truth can be hard, as one must strip away everything on the surface and find what IS, instead of what we perceive to be - but though it may be difficult to get to the truth, truths can be found in all things.
Because of this, Lanos' followers do not shirk from duty or unpleasant tasks, instead tackling tasks with an honour and wisdom that puts many to shame. Pursuit of truth is so important to Him and His followers that many would die rather than see lies and corruption spread over the realm of Aetolia, and Lanos actually did sacrifice Himself for such a reason.

Perhaps the most important truth of all to Lanos, however, is the internal truth of a mortal's soul, the truth that someone can only discover about themselves. Lanos cherishes most those who know themselves and what they are capable of, both for good and for evil, and
yet stay on the path of truth and goodness though it might make them weaker.

Lanos' symbol of a flaming sword cleaving a knotted rope, on a field quartered blue and silver, represents not only him, but how the truth always cuts through lies, with resistance being weak, if there at all.
